Join Us!

JOIN US for a 5-week art program focused on the design and creation of public artwork created with recycled materials. Using art journaling, discussion, mindfulness activities, group problem solving, and collaboration, participants will reflect on the following ideas:

  • In what way do we care for ourselves and each other?
  • In what ways can we inspire hope?
  • How can we share our gifts with others?

These themes, and a basic project design, are defined each spring by the STRIDE CREATIVE COUNCIL, a gathering of youth who participated in the Mighty Teens program during theย  school year (as well as previous summer program participants).

Participants design and create a large mixed-media wall art to be displayed in a public space in Door County.

ย

They are also provided with time and materials to explore their creativity and to create personal art projects to take home.

Participants work with Jodi Rose Gonzales, a credentialed art therapist and visual artist who uses nature and found/recycled objects in her artwork.

Hi! I'm Jodi.

I'm a Stride Creative service provider. I LOVE making group-created artwork because it is so empowering for participants as they contribute to a project that is much bigger than anything they dreamed they could do by themselves.

I hope your child will join this year's summer program!

We'll explore themes related to emotional safety, boundaries, respect, resilience, growth mindset, and more.

This program is for all levels of artistic ability.

For Students Entering Grades 5-8.
